Jon's
Marathon Update
Many of you very generously sponsored Jon and in
addition to the £1,000 to Royal National Institute for
the Blind, sufficient additional funds (£5,000) were raised
which will be used to build two houses in Dominican Republic
when Jon goes later this year, taking two desperately poor families
out of the slums and giving them hope for the future. Thank
you!

Three Peaks - Three Challenges
Adam Vanstone headed up one of 16 teams to take on the Three
Peak Challenge and conquer Scafell, Ben Nevis and Snowdon
in under 24 hours to raise money for a trust set up in memory
of a life long friend, Captain James Philippson, killed in action
in Afghanistan.
Three charities benefit from
everyone's efforts - The Army Benevolent Fund, Help for Heroes
and The Back-Up Trust, which runs a range of services for people
with spinal cord injuries. (Adam second

Everyone's a Winner
Everyone was a winner when Jon not only ran the London Marathon
but also accompanied his partially sighted friend, Mark Townsend,
to fulfil his ambition to run the 26 miles - and two charities
benefited as well.
Jon raised money for a charity close to his heart,
a regeneration
building project with Mission Direct in a very
under privileged village, Los Algodones, in the Dominican Republic.
Previously Jon has raised funds to build a school and during
some of his holiday this summer Jon will help build accommodation
for a family who live in appalling squalor.

Graham gives a talk hosted by the King's School,
Harpenden
Graham gave a talk titled "God's Wisdom on Money",
which was hosted by The King's School in Harpenden. Anyone could
attend the talk and hear Graham expand on what God has to say
to us today, through the Bible, about money. To discover if
it is relevant and to explore the opportunities of how it can
be applied in our lives today. As an independent Christian School
it was the perfect joint venture.

It's
a Wrap
On Monday we visited The New Hope Trust 'drop in centre' in
Watford and helped wrap Christmas presents for them. In this
time of family and friendship it was a humbling reminder that
this present will most likely be the only one they will get
at Christmas.
Instead of sending out a Christmas card this year
we have made a donation to New Hope Trust, Watford. We have
to say how very impressed we are with this Charity and the excellent
ministry they have serving the homeless of Watford.
