Trinity Wealth Management newsletter
- Summer 2007 I
always like to start our newsletter with a thought provoking fact. How about this?
Did you know its not just equity investments that can include bubbles in their
cycles (Remember the dot.com bubble?).
Currently works of art
(funded by Private Equity and incredibly wealthy Hedge fund managers) are said
to be 'in a bubble' as Monet's Waterloo Bridge fetched £17.1m and Andy Warhol's
'Green Car Crash' going for an incredible £71m. That kind
of money could buy a lot of medical equipment, clean water, shelter
. Hopefully
you know us well enough to forgive us this passion, but we continue to love to
see our clients take a wider view of their financial stewardship, and when this
happens, it is job satisfaction indeed! Trinity is now six years
old, and we've had an eventful six months since our previous letter: Graham
Cleveland TV star! Many of you will have watched Graham appear on Songs
of Praise back in March. (He must have told you?) Just in case you did miss this,
click here to see Graham on Songs of Praise. Obviously
we were pleased to get a mention as a company and even a link from the BBC website,
and this generated a good deal of interest. What was sad however were the number
of Christians who contacted us who had got themselves into debt and were struggling
with this issue. Graham spoke to every one of these callers,
and offered them spiritual hope. They were then referred to an excellent organisation
called Credit Action or Christians Against Poverty, which work in this area. If
you know of people who struggle in this area, we would certainly recommend they
contact Credit Action on 0800 138 1111 or Christians Against Poverty on 01274
760720 or go to their web sites. Graham Cleveland CFP!
In May, Graham was successful in being awarded Certified Financial Planner status
(CFP), which is the professional qualification of the Institute of Financial Planning.
This involved Graham passing a comprehensive case study set by the Institute of
Financial Planning that test the ability of the practitioner to apply financial
planning in an integrated format. This status remains prestigious
and still rare among IFAs as at the last count only 700 in the country have passed
out of 140,000 registered advisers. Trinity Ministries
Charitable Trust Finally our Charitable Trust has been set up! We
have set this up as a mechanism for the company to make our philanthropic gifts.
However, we have also opened it up to you, our clients, as a clearing trust. This
will allow you to make all your gifts to one place, and then you simply instruct
us, when you are ready, to distribute to whatever cause you wish. If you would
like to know more about this service, please do call us. Some of you are already
using this and it continues to be a source of delight to see people giving to
kingdom causes. New Staff We are delighted to announce
that Sue Thomas will be joining us on the 20th of August. Her role will
be as a technical support planner to both Graham & Jon, which is a real answer
to prayer. Her title in the industry is known as a para-planner. She comes highly
recommended with 10 years experience in the industry. Vacancies
(again) Sadly, Jenny has decided to take a change in career and goes back
to college in September to study Occupational Therapy. We wish her every blessing
in this work and she will be sadly missed. We
need a replacement, and fast! Do you know of anyone? Dominican
Republic You may remember in the Christmas
newsletter, we mentioned Jon & friends are looking to raise £55,000
this year to build a school for Haitians in DR. At the half-way stage, they are
on £30,000 and have recently attempted the Yorkshire three peaks challenge
on 14th July. Clients have been historically very generous
and Jon gets embarrassed at keeping asking. However, if you do wish to give, (or
sponsor) it really will change a life. As always, thank you
for your support and recommendations over the last 6 months Jon
