Trinity Wealth Management newsletter
- Winter 2006/7 Here's
an interesting fact. The Royal Mail deliver 150 million Christmas cards and packages
each day during the Christmas season, and it is estimated that over 1billion Christmas
cards will end up in the bin! We hope you will read our letter first and then
recycle it!
Back in July we wrote in our mid term letter
that Trinity was five years old. Of course, Graham & I have worked together
much longer than that, and are celebrating eleven and a half years. We were talking
with a client only yesterday about the trust which we place in each other, and
we are convinced that what helps keep the relationship strong is the joint desire
to serve God through the business. Office Move:
It has been a year since we moved to Cedar Court and we now feel like it truly
is home. We have finally let out upstairs to an Italian IT company. We are very
pleased to have filled the space and the surplus capacity in the whole of the
Cedar Court complex has begun to be taken up. We feel that the move out of St
Albans city centre was prudent, and other businesses are following our lead. It
is becoming quite the business community. We have also let
our friend Nigel Kiernander work from our office. Nigel runs a Christian humanitarian
charity called 'The Mission House' which is very much aligned to our hearts. We
are delighted to be able to offer our support to Nigel. Website
This year we have launched an additional website www.trinitywealthmanagement.co.uk
which provides more information about Biblically Based financial planning and
also news of our charitable arm Trinity Ministries. When you
give referrals, it might be more helpful to refer them to our site above rather
than www.financial-advisers.com
which is more our business site. National exposure:
Back in October, Graham had a cover feature in a highly regarded Trade magazine
called New Model Adviser. You can read this article which can be found at www.trinitywealthmanagement.co.uk
Graham was very upfront about his faith, and we are delighted that the article
has made this the primary focus. It's a good read. If that's
not enough, Graham is to be featured on Songs of Praise next year, not singing
(thankfully) but sharing his story on money and the biblical principles. They
will be filming in February, and will be mentioning Trinity. We'll let you know
when it is to be aired. Trinity Ministries: When
we wrote too you back in July, we advised you that we were in the process of setting
up Trinity Ministries. This trust was set up to be used as a clearing trust for
our clients as a means of giving tax efficiently whilst deferring and maintaining
control of when & where to give. Do talk to us about this valuable service
we are now offering. Of course, we are using it for our own
giving which this past six months has seen all three of us travel on Mission.
Dominican Republic Trip: Jon returned to DR in September,
and was once again greatly affected by the poverty which he encountered. Along
with his accountant Andy Smart, Jon has pledged to raise £50,000 for a school
in a village which ranked as the poorest village the Charity had yet discovered.
Jon is actively pursuing Corporate sponsorship for this challenge.
However, all gifts continue to be greatly appreciated. Jon
has recently been appointed a Trustee of the charity Mission Direct who he travelled
with. China: Our secretary Jennie, who many of
you will have talked to, went to China in October to work alongside a missionary
who works there. This was an enlightening experience and quite a culture shock
for her. Highlights included forging friendships and encouraging new Chinese Christians,
sharing her faith with many of those she met and even being likened to Princess
Diana, some mistake surely! Poland: It was great
to see Graham back as an evangelist once again. Graham spent a weekend in the
City of Gdansk in Poland where he spoke at two meetings with Polish businessmen.
After Graham's talks, 23 people made commitments to follow Jesus, and many others
asked for follow up meetings. Graham was out in Poland with
Alan Heavey who many of you will know is an evangelist that we have supported
since the formation of Trinity. Be careful, its amazing where God can take you
when you make a gift! Graham has also become a Board Member
for the Association of Christian Financial Advisers which is a growing voice in
financial services. LEGISLATION Yet again, this
year has seen the Government ride rough shod over the financial services industry.
We know that our industry has a lot to answer for, but the U turns we have seen
from the Government with regards to investment into Pensions and also Pension
term Assurance show a complete disregard for the efforts our industry have been
making. Rest assured, as your advisers, we keep abreast of
all developments, and the advice which we give takes in to account the ever changing
world of financial planning. Fortunately some principals are timeless, such as
understanding that God owns it all, Spending less than you earn and giving generously.
We would encourage you to continue to walk in these truths. We
continue to be thankful for each and every one of you. We value you as individuals,
and also the business which you give to us which allows us to continue in our
work and our mission. May you have a very peaceful Christmas!
and a blessed New year. Jon &
Graham |
